If you have missed an extended date of filing ITR, do not even frick, there is still another chance. However, there are certain conditions for this that must be understood first. The returns that will be filed after the last date will be kept in a separate category and their belated returns will be called File ITR.

This is Belated Returns: Understand this as follows. Suppose a person can not submit the returns till the due date, then he can deposit the leased returns under Section 139 (4) of the Income Tax Act.

This is Belated Deadline: Well, the Belated Returns can be filed at any time, which should be before the present year. If you are filing returns for the financial year 2016-17, you will have to fill the notified returns for this financial year. That is, you can not file returns for the previous or next year. In this way, you can fill in the financial year 2016-17 as a balanced return by March 31, 2018.

Is Belated ITR Revise is Possible: The answer is yes. ITR can be revised for the financial year 2016-17. Belated returns can not be revised for the last financial year because the income tax law has changed for the said year, so it will not be revised every year.
