First transgender Judge appointed in the country’s public court

The first transgender judge of the country’s Lok Adalat, Joyita Mondal will give people their right. Joyita has been appointed as a judge in the Lok Adalat of Islampur of North Dinajpur (West Bengal). He is one of the few people in this community, who has achieved success while facing all the difficulties.

Joyita had suffered greatly from childhood. The family members were disturbed by her objections. At school, she were confused about Forced her had to leave school first, then in 2009 she left her home. When she joined a call center for the job, she started making jokes there too. Many times she had to begged and lived. There was no room on rent for her. In such a situation, she had to spend the night under the open sky. Joyita later joined a social institution and made social work the basis of her life. Since 2010, she has been working as a social worker.

The happy ending of the 29-year-long Joyita battle took place when Sub Divisional Legal Services Committee of Islampur of Uttar Dinajpur appointed her as judge of Lok Adal. Joyita is very happy with the decision of appointment in the Lok Adalat. She said that there are so many transgender in the country, who can do better if they get a chance.
