IK Chaturvedi becomes president of the High Court Bar Association

Senior Advocate Inder Kumar Chaturvedi has won the post of president in the Allahabad High Court Bar Association elections. He defeated his closest rival outgoing president Anil Tiwari with a huge difference of 1228 votes. In addition to the President, Ravindra Nath Ojha, Secretary, Avinash Chandra Tiwari, Senior Vice President and Prashant Singh Rinku Joint Secretary (Administration) have also won. However, the formal announcement of the victory of these four candidates is yet to be made.

After the counting of these posts ended on Monday, four candidates and their supporters played Holi of Abir Gulal. There is an atmosphere of celebration from the counting place to the outside of the High Court premises. On the other hand, counting for the post of Chairman, Senior Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary Administration (Administration) was concluded on the third day noon. Senior Advocate Ik Chaturvedi continued to lead from the beginning and by the end, he ran forward in the race. He defeated Anil Tiwari by 1228 votes.

Avinash Chandra Tiwari defeated his nearest rival JB Singh with 321 votes in the post of general secretary. Ravindra Ojha, Senior Vice President, succeeded Jamil Ahmed with 426 votes and Prashant Singh defeated Manu Sharma by 85 votes in the post of Joint Secretary Administration. Transparency was also carried out to avoid any dispute in the counting of Chief Election Officer Senior Advocate Dharampal Singh, Election Officer Suresh Chandra Dwivedi, Vashisht Tiwari, Sharik Ahmed and Nitin Sharma.
