While supporting the closure call by the Chamber of Traders Federation on 6th November 2017, J & K High Court Bar Association has decided to keep work suspension in all the courts on Monday. The association has also appealed to the other Association of Jammu and Kashmir to keep work suspension this day.
Addressing a press conference in the High Court premises on Saturday, president of the J & K High Court Bar Association, senior advocate BS Sallathia said that the decision to hold Jammu on November 6th of the Chamber of Traders Federation, Team Jammu and Jammu Provincial People’s Forum is justified and Bar Association fully supports it. Recalling the demand for declaration of Lakhanpur toll tax and government holiday on the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh, Sultan said that after the GST was implemented in the whole country, there was a similar tax but the people are still facing double taxation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sallathia said that due to historic decision of Maharaja Hari Singh, Jammu and Kashmir was merged with India and today the Nationalist people of Jammu are taking the national flag with pride. He said that he was Maharaja Hari Singh who established the State High Court in 1928, therefore, it becomes even more important for the judicial system that the holiday in the honor of the Maharaja is declared.
During the press conference, Vice-Principal of the Association, Sachin Gupta, while expressing concern over the rising population of the Rohini people, demanded to take him out of the state while General Secretary Prem Sadotra questioning the selection process of the Public Service Commission said It is being discriminated against the youth of Jammu.
