One of the family members died mysteriously falling from the 4th floor of a building. There's a strong suspicion of his wife being the culprit. A police complaint has been lodged but no FIR has been done yet. The victim was an SBI branch manager, with his salary account nominee as mother, NPS nominee as mother, gratuity nominee as mother and PF nominee as wife. The family doesn't want to compromise with the wife at all, and is ready to claim only their part, however the bank is saying that the wife is the first legal heir and therefore she has the first say in every benefit disbursal. Should we contact the bank's legal team. What should be the next step.

Dear Sir, Yes, you have to contact Banks legal team and also approach Civil Court and claim a share in the said amounts.
