It It Safe To Hold Property In My Mothers Name Or Mine.

I am son to my father's second wife (legal marriage). I do not want the son from first marriage to file a court case asking for a share in property(not ancestral). So if I hold it can he raise a case on the grounds of Partiality. or will it be safe in my mother's name.
