To obtain succession certificate, a petition to the District Judge within whose jurisdiction the deceased person ordinarily resided at the time of his or her death or, if at that time he or she had no fixed place of residence, the District Judge within whose jurisdiction any part of the property of the deceased may be found. There is no onlone system or process for obtaining a Succession Certificate. You have to apply and file a Petition for grant of Succession Certificate and then to prove your legalheirship in a set process. No specific time frame can be demarcated for the finalisation of the process.

Dear Ankush There is no online platform till date to get succession certificate. To get succession certificate you have to file application in civil court of the concerned district of your place and after the same court will issue notice to all the concerned legal heir/persons giving them 45 days to oppose the same application. In addition to this, court will get publish the same in daily newspapers. If they don't oppose then court will issue an order in your favour and grant certificate of succession.
