my friends father passed away in Delhi but he doesn't know when or where in delhi as he was a minor and his parents were staying desperately but we're not divorced. He's in Mumbai n needs his father's death certificate but is not in touch with his father's relatives also his mother had also passed away when he was a minor. he doesn't even know his father's address or hospital at the time of death. How can he get the death certificate especially since he's in Mumbai n doesn't know anyone in Delhi. now he's of legal age

Dear Sir, An application may be filed before the local authority about the death and get register the same and thereafter get death certificate.

He may go in touch with his father's relatives and know actual death place and date. After knowing he may give an affidavit. The affidavit must be executed by an executive magistrate. On the basis of affidavit he may apply for death certificate.
