Hello, my husband is in army. After our marriage when he went to his jobplace, his family started harassing me,my husband also supported them and they told me to leave the house. for my safety, i had to leave n come to my parents, that time my husband was at job, i informed him this. 1whole year I tried to contact my husband but he blocked my number n didn't contact at all. Finally i lodged police case n written to his unit. due to the fear of losing his job,he wrote me a letter through lawyer that he wants to restore the marriage,whole year he tried to contact me but I was adamant here.(that's a big lie) now lawyer has written to me to restore the conjugal rights within 30 days or he'll take legal action against me. so kindly guide me what should I do now, as I'm right here n he has changed his statement. earlier he clearly stated that he doesn't wanna patch up again n wants divorce. ( we are married legally under Christian act) Thanks!

You need not to go to any lawyer. Send a regd. A. D. reply to your husband, his lawyer and his unit head stating that you are willing to restore the conjugal rights and start living with him at his workplace or any where he lives and not with his parents as you have fear of being murdered for want of more dowry by your in laws. State that this fear was the reason for your leaving the matrimonial home when he was at his work place. Send this reply immediately.
