My uncle owns self-acquired property and had a son. His wife passed away. At the time his wife passed away, neither she nor he had a will. My uncle is now having challenges with his son and wants to understand what rights his son has to his property and whether his wife's interests passed to his son after his wife passed away.

Hi,' Your uncle has right to sell, gift, make a will of self acquired property as he wants. But if the property is joint, then shares of property in the name of mother will be transferred equally to legal heirs under Hindu Succession Act. If you find it helpful, kindly rate my answer. Thank You.
