Now only RO water will be used in Jalabhishek of Mahakal: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has approved the new rules for Jalabhishek in the Mahakal temple located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Now under the new rules, the RO water for Mahakal’s Jalabhishek will be used. According to the order of the court, the pilgrim will be used for half liter water, along with the order of the use of Panchamrath, one hundred fifty liters.

The Supreme Court has accepted the proposal of the temple committee to preserve the Shivling of the Mahakal temple and has ordered that Shivling will be covered with cloth before the Bharta Aarti and after the burning of Jalabhishek at 5 o’clock the sanctum will be dried. According to the order of the court, arrangements will be made to keep the Garbhagriha dry for Shivaling, and Khandsari will be used instead of putting powdered sugar powder in Shivling.

Crores of devotees reach the Mahakal temple. There are many types of consecration, including Abhishek, with continuous Jalabhishek, Dugdhabhishak and fruit juice on Shivling. Ujjain’s social worker Sarika Guru had filed a petition demanding entry of the devotees to the womb and touching Shivling. In the petition, Sarika also mentioned many Jyotirlingas like Omkareshwar, Mallikarjuna, Somnath, where devotees are prohibited from entering the womb.
