A person(X) has made a possible threat to me which I come to know through a friend(Y). Y has said he will not come out with it publically or even take a stand, he is just telling me for my ears only. X has just shifted in the US but has contacts here and the threat is serious. His father who lives in India has contacts with Ministers and he also seems to be a big goon/industrialist here in India. Can I register a complaint in police mentioning his name and pointing him if something happens to me in the future or how should I move forward. As such it is difficult to get any proof of a threat.
