Dear Himanshu, Since an FIR has been lodged against your friend under S. 420 & 120B, it is advisable for you to immediately file a quashing petition u/s. 482 CrPC before the High Court. (before the Police files charge sheet). In a number of Supreme Court judgments it has been held that before the filing of the charge sheet, you can move to High court for quashing of FIR. Regards, Kajal Bhatia
Now, police will submit its charhesheet(report) to the judge and if your friend is not satisfied with the report filed by police, your may friend can filed an application countering the chargesheet and seek further investigation in the case.
the police might send a notice under section 41A CRPc for interogation. your friend in the meantime could apply for anticipatory bail and quashing.
