my parents in law and i taken a house on rent in mohan garden delhi, landlord said you have to pay 14000 p.m. for a 3BHK house, we have negotiated. then he said 14000 is all inclusive house rent and electricity charges, we found the deal better we have started living in his house since june 2016.we have been told that there is a electric meter in godown which was at the ground floor, the area where the meter is fixed covered by the wooden wall and it is locked, after few months there was a short circuit in main wiring, we have repaired that ant then we found that the main cable coming from the pole is directly connected with house wiring it is not through the meter. it is Direct Theft of electricity. we assumed that the landlord is powerful and having approach in BSES. so we continued living there. two months ago electricity checking team came and found direct theft. they asked to my mother in law her name, she told her name as well as she told that we are tenant and landlord name. they have lodged FIR against my mother in law and landlord.the case is in patiala house court. how can we avoid the case. what are our responsibility, now we want to shift to another House, i told my landlord regarding this, he said you can not leave this house until the case will be closed. if we do such court will issue a warrant against my mother in law and she will be jailed. what can we do? can we move? is there anyway to avoid the case? please help
