Hi i am a 23 year old student , my family recently had some issue with neighours , they were constantly abusing us for days . recently when i went to their house for talking with head of the family. his 21 year old son got physical with me and we had a little fight . nothing serious hurt to both of us. crowd there watched us. his son has filled a non cognizable offence report under ipc 323 and ipc 504 against me . i have also filled the same case against him under ipc 323 ipc 504. so its a counter case equally against each other. we both had medical test after that and went home. now i am getting an advice from a friend for the sake of my career. who is in touch with an officer in the police station to give something in writing and submit there in police station( what that may be i have no idea ). there is certainly no dialouge between neighour's son and me to compromise . and i guess this will be single sided from me. i need some advice what to give in writing and what not to.

in this case if the matter is not compromised then both cases will be tried in court and normally both cases will be result in acquittal and no one will be punished but both of you have to attend the court for few months as it takes long to get the case disposed off, in this case the best thing is to compromise and the case will be over in one day in court, if they do not compromise then need not worry just you have to attend the court, appoint a lawyer get bail which is easy in this case and go for trial and the case will be over in few months.
