I have doubt regarding to maintenance can be allotted to a divorced lady. My wife is living in her native place with my 2 year old age son from last 6+ month (still no case of divorce is filed). She went with our given 5 lakh ornaments, there is no dowry from our side. Although she has no right on my parents self-occupied property, she is demanding 20 lakh by local panchayat by name of 2 year old age son and divorce maintenance. There is no property dedicated to me and my younger brother. My income is 10000/- month. She has full of eye on my parents property. Please let me know (1) Maintenance given by court depend only on income of husband or status of family... (2) Does separate maintenance will be given to lady and 2 year old child. Till how long I need to bear ... (3) If she get second-marriage then do I need to continue maintenance for lady as well as for kid .. (4) What could be worst case in term of maintenance amount for me.. (5) How can I prove that she has our 5 lakh ornaments... (6) What type of legal step I need to take...

3) only kid.. and u can demand custody too. if they adopt ur child with ur consent they its over.. 4) 5k pm 5)its hard u should send notices or try to mention in police enquiry statement.. otherwise only in trial during cross examination.. 1) Income of u.. status is considered only when it gives you any monetary benefit.. ur parents income and self acquired property are irrelevant.. 2)Answered ; For kid until Major or in worst case untill employed or 25 yrs.. for wife untill remarried or proven employed or living adulterous life..
