HYDERABAD

My dad passed away 4 months ago. He owned a registered firm. One of his friends says that he gave him a cheque worth rupees 1lacs in 2017 and he wants that money back now. He is asking us to pay him back. My dad had a habit of maintaining a book where he use to note down every transaction he made in a day. When I checked that book, I got to know that my dad gave him 2 lac rupees cash in 2020. But he denies the receipt of 2 lac rupees. Does he has a case here? How can we defend him and handle this case? P.S. the firm owned by my dad is closed now

Dear Sir, Whenever a cheque bounce notice is issued take such defence but after the death of your father such cheque cannot be presented and cannot be bounced. Hello Sir/Ma'am It would be suggested to gather evidence that your father paid him the amount of 2Lac in 2020, there might be some receipt in old records of account of firm. Once you have a evidence that your father paid him the money then the opposite party has no case to file. Thanks Please rate if you find this advice helpful.
