As per the Hindu Marriage Act - If the Husband is Petitioner & Wife is Respondent 1. The place of marriage - Answer: Hyderabad 2. Place last lived together Husband & Wife - Answer: Hyderabad 3. Where the respondent (Wife) resides - Answer: Hyderabad Respondent's (wife) is from Hyderabad and her Aadhar card address is also from Hyderabad. I am a Petitioner (husband) living in Chennai and my Aadhar card address is also from Chennai. Being a husband as a petitioner my question is Can I file a divorce petition under cruelty in Chennai against my wife?

Dear Sir, If you have documents of residents you can file Divorce in your place where you are now residing. But, the wife has a right to get it transferred where she is now residing. The wife has to go to Supreme Court to get such transfer order.
