Transfer of property by way of Gift is the best option, when it is transferred within blood relatives. Stamp Duty is State subject and differs from state to state and Registration Charges will be minimal. Yes you can go ahead, it will be bare minimal when compared to Release / Relinquishment / Sale etc. Transferring the property through Gift in your case is ideal option, you can go ahead.
