Visit your local police station to file a First Information Report (FIR) or a formal written complaint. Present your timeline and evidence. If the police refuse to register an FIR, request a diary number for your complaint and escalate the matter by sending a copy to the Superintendent of Police (SP) or Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). you can contact the National Commission for Women (NCW) 24x7 helpline at 14490 for immediate counseling and legal assistance. If the harassment is happening in the workplace, submit a written complaint to your Human Resources department or the Internal Committee (IC) as mandated under the POSH Act.

Workplace sexual harassment complaint If the harassment happened while working at the uncle’s company, a complaint may be made under the POSH Act (Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act). Normally this goes to: the company’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), or the Local Complaints Committee (LCC) through the district administration if the company had no ICC.
