My ISP(Internet Service Provider) is violating TCCR, 2012 regulation (Telecom Consumers Complaint Redressal Regulations) by TRAI and I am also not satisfied with their service. I lodged complaints to the helpline multiple times but didn't get any solution. I tried to reach higher officials of the company and TRAI. Now the ISP is threatening to disconnect my connection. They are pressurising my LCO (Local Cable Operator who provides the last mile infrastructure) to disconnect my service. I used to recharge from my LCO but after he denied to recharge (and disconnected my active package), I used ISP online recharge facility and recharged for a 6-month package. (the relationship b/w these LCO and ISP is defined in Broadband Policy, 2004.) Now, in my area, only that single ISP is providing internet and I have no option to shift to another provider. My current plan expires on Nov'18. I can go to consumer court after they take any step against me (eg: disconnect) but it will take time to resolve the issue in court. Meanwhile, I will have no internet access. What should I do now. The company is violating multiple regulations and it is affecting lots of consumers. I will continue to fight against their malpractices but I want to make my side secure first. 1. The company is Violating TCCR Regulation. they are not allowing users to contact appellate authority and not providing any information about appellate authority. I filed an RTI to get the appellate authority information of the company and received the information from TRAI. I contacted the concerned appellate authority and he didn't reply back. He is the person who is advising my LCO to stop providing service to me. 2. They don't have any tollfree helpline number but TCCR mandates such number. 3. I also think that They are violating net neutrality recommendations. 5. They don't follow QoS Recommendation by TRAI. 6. They also engage in other types of anti-consumer practices which are affecting a large number of users. I just want to fight against them to stop their malpractices. I will inform these things to DoT, TRAI etc. authorities but I can't do if they continually threaten to remove me from their user base. I will actually gain nothing personally form this but it will help lots of internet users. So, My confusions are: 1. Can they stop provideing service if I demand proper service from them. 2. Internet connection is quite important to me and I have no other ISP in my locality. So, how should I respond to their threat.
