ANCESTRAL PROPERTY

I am a fifty five year old lady. My parental home is in Haryana. I was married in Delhi. Now I live with my husband in NOIDA, UP. I have one brother and six sisters. My father died in 2002. My mother is alive. My father had lot of ancestral as well as self acquired property in Haryana and Delhi. The property is residential, commercial as well as agricultural. My father has done a WILL in favor of my bother in 1986 for the property he owned. Recently my brother approached me to sign some papers pertaining to the property in Delhi which is commercial as well as residential. I have refused to sign. I want my share from the parental/ancestral property. I have following questions 1. Am I right to understand that I have right to own the 1/8th part of the property that came to my father's name/ was given to my father from/by my grandfather. 2. How should I proceed to acquire my property. (brother will not give willingly) 3. Whether I shall have to apply for the property in Haryana and Delhi separately. Rajbala Bhati
