I had purchased land in UP in 2016. It was registered with the partial amount given to the land seller and rest un-dated cheque with my sign. The registry was done and every month 10k was being transferred till 2018 and stopped because I sensed some issues as the dealer said he wants me to purchase another land in exchange for this land in another area with the same amount. At that moment I sensed something fishy and wanted to settle the matter by giving the remaining amount and get the original papers and cheques back. Now after 4 years the property dealer is refusing to show land to me. He has original registry papers and 4 un-dated cheques with my sign. I only have a photocopy of registry papers. I also have a fear that he may use my undated cheques. What should I do, please help?

Take action immediately and to initiate the process get a legal notice served upon the Vendor of the property and settle the matter Accordingly.. Because your cheques lying there will cause problem.
