In 2004, my father donor-ed house to me and to my brother as gift deed without any condition .after the gift deed me and my brother didn't transfer property tax,EB tax to our name.everything was in my father's name.my brother didn't care my father and mother though he is well settled.my parents are staying with me. so,in 2016 my father cancelled the gift deed given to us and made a sale deed to me.after sale deed I transferred everything to my name (EB,property tax).Now((2018) my brother filed suit against me and my father that cancelled gift deed and sale deed is invalid.my question is what my father done is valid or not. if no means what is necessary steps i have to take. please guide me what to do

Dear Sir, The sale deed executed by your father is valid and biding. Further cancellation of gift deed is also valid since it appears it is self acquired property of your father. Just prolong the suit proceedings filed by your brother nothing will happen. Please contact me through this Website for more details.

After the gift deed is complete the gift deed cannot be unilaterally revoked. To revoke the gift deed your father should have gone to court and seek the cancellation of the deed. There is no other legal recourse available to him. Your brother has rightly challenged the sale deed.
