Hello sir, I am in the process of purchasing a flat in Mumbai. I have shortlisted 2 properties, one is a new builder flat in borivali E, it has everything positive except that it has a lease of 50 years left on it from MHADA, second property is in kandivali, thakur village, it is a 8-9 year old property as freehold. our first preference to buy is the one in borivali E but I am confused about the lease prospect and what would happen in the future, I would be very grateful if you would help me with this decision making.

You can buy it, it will be better to search with regards to that property to concern sub register office, make sure to check all the relevant transaction with the said property , better to engage to lawyer who can do for you.
