We live in a joint family in a 4 story building fully owned by us. We are planning to sell off the 1st floor only. The house is in my mother's name and there is no dispute among us regarding the decision. Since we have no exposure to such events, request suggestions on the kind of documents to be submitted for this, expenses to be borne for the process and where to start from. The house is in the KMC area.

Yours is joint family property, if you are selling one portion of it you require the permission from the other members of the family, you consult your nearby lawyer for more details.
