I am an IT employee remotely working out of Bangalore for a Hyderabad based firm. I have been employed with my current company for 1.3 years now. I communicated my pregnancy to the HR in August that my due date is in December and also that I will be availing maternity leave from Mid October. The company has not paid me the salary for September month yet and they are asking me to go on a sabbatical/quit the company (without any severance package) citing COVID as a reason for not being able to support my maternity. Since then I have been trying to reach the HR and the Director of the company, but they are not responding to my emails or calls My offer letter clearly states that I can avail 6 months of maternity leave with full gross pay on completion of 1 year with the company. I request you to kindly help me & guide me with this issue.

as per law maternity leave can not be denied and no salary can be deducted make a complaint to Higher authority
