As per the Hindu Marriage Act - the Husband as a Petitioner & Wife as a Respondent 1. The place of marriage - Answer: Hyderabad 2. Place last lived together Husband & Wife - Answer: Hyderabad 3. Where the respondent (Wife) resides - Answer: Hyderabad Respondent's wife is from Hyderabad and her Aadhar card address is also from Hyderabad. I am a Petitioner husband living in Chennai and my Aadhar card address is also from Chennai. Being a husband as a petitioner my question is Can I file a divorce petition under cruelty in Chennai against my wife?

Dear Client, The place of suing your wife will be Chennai if your wife resided with you in Chennai. The suit must be filed at the court of lowest grade authorized to try it, according to Section 15 of the CPC. Thank you.

Dear Sir, If your wife resided with you in Chennai then you can file Divorce on the ground of Cruelty in Chennai. But, if your wife approach Supreme Court there are chances of transfer of the case to Hyderabad.
