HUF Property Partition

my father sold his self acquired house, and invested funds to register BDA property in my mother's name, is the property status: my father's (deceased) self acquired, HUF, or my mother's self acquired, pls let me know if my mother signed gift deed part of this 1/3 to one of the granddaughter instead of a son.
