My parents had passed away. I am survived by my brother. My parents had a locker in Punjab National Bank. I want to claim the contents of the locker but the bank told me to get a succession certificate after we had evaluated the value of the contents of the locker, which came around a big amount of money. But in order to obtain succession certificate, hefty court fees are to be paid, which we are not in a position to pay since neither my brother nor I have a job. kindly guide on any other methods I can take, we are only in the ages of 20s and both are not in any sort of dispute.

i think file a suit for succession certificate and it will not go for big expences intially after getting certificate you can release the asset from locker and pay the lawyer well

You can either file case as paupapaupris where court after due inquiry can deferr the payment on account of court fee.you can also approach legal aid cell situated at every district and high court from where you can avail services of advocates appointed by legal aid cell and some financial assistance also.
