My father took a house on rent in 1989, we lived there for 11 years, the tax is on his name, our 20 years of rent is unpaid but the agreement is on my father's name. He's no more, the landlord is forcing us to leave the house in return of no need to pay rent & remaining commercial tax of approx 2 lac, can I get any compensation to leave the house. Can I get money to leave it? I have the agreements & rent proof, I am from Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

you can attain the status being a statutory tenant and can inherit that status from your father after his death. But as per the prevailing provisions of law You are not eligible for any compensation. It can only happen by virtue of some mutual agreement/understanding.

You may be on rent for 32 years but status will be same as tenant. You can't become owner.
