Marked Absonded From Work

My husband employed at a company in Gurgaon was recently marked as absconded even after he was in touch with the management and HR. His salary for feb was given 80% and for march 20%. During the lockdown period, his manager conveyed they had to work from home and achieve a target of 2 lacks monthly. Upon completion of 50,000 targets an employee would get 25 % salary only. His a sales job and target based. After working for over a month with no financial support from the company, he conveyed to his manager, higher management and the hr that he was demotivated and financially constrained and wasn't able to work and won't be working from home until the dues were cleared. After avoiding the issue, it was conveyed by the AVP that he was marked as absconded. Can a person be marked absconded when he has been communicating and seeking guidance for work continuation? Please help.
