    As per provisions of section 138 of N.I . Act when you have informed by your bank that your cheque has dishonored, from that day you shall give a notice of 15 days to the writer of the cheque within a period of 30 days. After service of the notice within 15days if the writer of the cheque does not paid the cheque amount than from completion of 15 days period you may file a complaint before judicial magistrate within period 30 says.

    once you receive cheque bounce memo from bank , sent a written notice to party regarding this with in 30 days and give him 15 days time . if you did receive your money , then you can file a criminal suit with in jurisdiction.
